A member of a Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust WhatsApp group said that any doctor who has a visa sponsored by the Trust and decides to go on strike will be reported by the Trust to the Border Force. The Bank of England has announced that the proportion of the population aged 16-64 who are not in work, and do not want a job because of long-term sickness, is at a record high. It suspects much of this rise is owing to impacts of the pandemic, including Long Covid and the increase in NHS waiting lists.
