    • Reference: 2023/4818
    • Question by: Caroline Russell
    • Meeting date: 21 December 2023
In your answer to my question 2019/20119, you noted you were considering a memorial to the 12,000 Londoners who lost their lives in the Great Smog of 1952, and identified the 70th anniversary in 2022 as the best way to do so. Could you provide me with an update on your plans for any such memorial?

    • Meeting date: 14 September 2023
Thank you for your answer to my question 2021/3532 about the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) arms fair, in which you said: “Given the significant opposition that exists and the local disruption this event causes I have written to both ExCel and the event organiser strongly urging them not to hold this event at ExCel in the future.” Could you tell me what response you received from both ExCel and the event organiser, and what further representations have you made to both ExCel and the organiser about not holding this event in London?
  • Question and Answer Session: Refugees in London (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Caroline Russell
    • Meeting date: 07 September 2023
Caroline Russell AM: Thank you, Chair. Good morning, everyone. My question is for Enver Solomon. I met recently with the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants in preparation for this plenary. They told me about the experience of a woman who claimed asylum in the UK, was 33 weeks pregnant and living in asylum accommodation near Gatwick. She was being given food that was unsuitable during pregnancy. She complained about the food to the hotel and medical practitioners from her hospital also spoke to hotel managers saying that the food was unsuitable for her and her baby, but no...
  • Peer outreach and Oyster cards

    • Reference: 2019/17402
    • Question by: Caroline Russell
    • Meeting date: 12 September 2019
It has been suggested that the need for members of your Peer Outreach Team to pay for work travel costs up-front represents a barrier to working in the team. Will you further support their valuable work by providing members of the team with a pre-loaded Oyster Card for work trips, or enabling one to be linked to a GLA payment card, to help with these expenses?

    • Reference: 2019/17405
    • Question by: Caroline Russell
    • Meeting date: 12 September 2019
A constituent has raised concerns about the lack of toilet facilities at West Ham station. When will Transport for London (TfL) complete its London-wide review of toilet facilities and will the final conclusions be publicly shared?
  • Private Renting Voter Registration (1)

    • Reference: 2019/17575
    • Question by: Tom Copley
    • Meeting date: 12 September 2019
Following your recent analysis that private renters are less likely to be registered to vote in London, what steps can you take to work with London Boroughs to drive up registration ahead of elections in London next May and a possible General Election at any moment?
  • Private Renting Voter Registration (2)

    • Reference: 2019/17576
    • Question by: Tom Copley
    • Meeting date: 12 September 2019
Your recent analysis about private renters and voter registration is timely and important. It also highlights how frequently private renters have to move in London. Not having a stable address can sometimes make it harder to get ID. Is there also a concern that the Government current Voter ID pilots and future proposals may make it harder still for London’s private renters to have their voices heard?
  • Extinction Rebellion’s pink boat

    • Reference: 2019/8867
    • Question by: Caroline Russell
    • Meeting date: 16 May 2019
Will you help find a permanent home in one of London’s museums for Berta Cáceres, the pink boat from the Extinction Rebellion peaceful protest at Oxford Circus in April 2019?
  • Performance (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Tom Copley
    • Meeting date: 21 March 2019
Mr Mayor, I heard the word ‘failure’ and for some reason the first person I thought of was Boris Johnson [MP, former Mayor of London], your predecessor and of course their Mayor. You have highlighted very helpfully in your answer to Assembly Member Boff some of Boris Johnson’s massive achievements: £320,000 of taxpayers’ cash wasted on water cannon he could not legally use, £40 million on overpriced buses that overheated and were basically mobile saunas, and of course £43 million on the botched Garden Bridge. Do you think that perhaps their mistake is thinking that a mayor should be judged...
