  • Air Quality Improvements Resulting from ULEZ Expansion

    • Reference: 2022/5171
    • Question by: Krupesh Hirani
    • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
The TfL press release announcing the consultation on ULEZ expansion states that expanding ULEZ London-wide will result in the air at an additional 145 schools meeting the interim World Health Organization target for nitrogen dioxide. Can you please provide a list of these schools, including a breakdown by borough?
  • Delayed Private Hire Vehicle Driver’s Licences

    • Reference: 2022/5177
    • Question by: Krupesh Hirani
    • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
Transport for London (TfL) is taking longer to process private hire vehicle (PHV) driver’s licences for new drivers than usual and have had to recruit additional staff. In the meantime, some of my constituents have complained of delays of several months as their application is processed. As they cannot work without the licence, they experience financial hardship. If TfL had anticipated the demand upon its PHV licencing workstream sooner, my constituents might not be in this position. How can TfL manage its workload more efficiently going forward?
  • Bakerloo Line and London Overground Upgrades (1)

    • Reference: 2022/5178
    • Question by: Krupesh Hirani
    • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
The Bakerloo line between Queen’s Park and Harrow & Wealdstone and the London Overground between Euston and Watford Junction is closing in the run up to Christmas for Network Rail engineers to carry out major improvements. Is the run up to Christmas – when many families would normally be travelling by public transport to spend the festive season together - the best time for these works to be carried out? Were other periods considered instead?
  • Bakerloo Line and London Overground Upgrades (2)

    • Reference: 2022/5179
    • Question by: Krupesh Hirani
    • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
While the railway itself is closed, improvement works will be carried out at the stations that are temporarily closed too – namely, North Wembley; South Kenton; Kenton; Headstone Lane; and Carpenders Park. The refurbishment will include clearing guttering, roof repairs, canopy renovations, installing tactile paving and resurfacing platforms. Some of my constituents have long-running concerns about the state of these stations. Can you confirm whether travellers were consulted about the planned improvements?
  • London Northwestern Railway (LNR) services at Wembley Central

    • Reference: 2022/5180
    • Question by: Krupesh Hirani
    • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
London Northwestern Railway services will no longer call at Wembley Central from December 11. The decision was taken in part due to the shorter platform lengths at Wembley Central that restrict the ability to run trains in long formations. It is claimed that the impact of this change will be relatively minor as very few LNR services currently call at the station. Do you share LNR’s confidence that travellers will not be severely impacted by this change to services?
  • ULEZ Charging Criteria

    • Reference: 2022/5181
    • Question by: Krupesh Hirani
    • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
Many constituents in Brent & Harrow are concerned that their vehicle will be liable for the ULEZ charge once the ULEZ Zone is expanded into our boroughs, despite that fact that their vehicle is currently not liable for charging within the current ULEZ boundaries. Can you confirm that vehicles that are currently not liable to pay the ULEZ charge, will not be liable to pay the charge upon completion of the ULEZ Zone expansion?
  • Electric Vehicle Charging Points

    • Reference: 2022/5182
    • Question by: Krupesh Hirani
    • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
The ULEZ expansion into Brent & Harrow will inevitably act as an incentive for some residents to purchase an electric vehicle. However, residents are concerned that both boroughs lack the available charging infrastructure to support the increase of electric vehicles on our roads. Do you agree with me that more electric vehicle charging points are required in both Brent and Harrow to keep up with demand, and what can your office do to support both boroughs in ensuring that demand is met with the installation prior to the expansion of the ULEZ Zone?
  • Cycle Hire Schemes

    • Reference: 2022/5183
    • Question by: Krupesh Hirani
    • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
What plans does the Mayor’s office have to encourage TfL to expand the cycle hire scheme into Brent?
  • A safer pedestrian crossing in Brent on Station Road A400 by the Tubbs Road junction

    • Reference: 2022/5184
    • Question by: Krupesh Hirani
    • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
It is incredibly dangerous for pedestrians crossing at this road junction due to pedestrian signals not being included in all of the traffic light signals. Will you join me in asking TfL to address this dangerous junction for pedestrians as a matter of urgency?
  • Impact of Driverless trains on tube noise

    • Reference: 2022/5185
    • Question by: Krupesh Hirani
    • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
Does Transport for London hold any information on the likely impact of greater automation and driverless trains on excessive tube noise?
