  • Affordability of Taxi Vehicles

    • Reference: 2023/4046
    • Question by: Susan Hall
    • Meeting date: 16 November 2023
The unit cash price of the LEVC TX taxi in October 23 sits at £74,359. With the plug-in taxi grant (which runs out in Spring 2024) the cash price is £66,859. Most taxi drivers cannot afford to buy a vehicle at cash price. The cost of the vehicle alongside finance sits at £91,327.40. Do you believe the high cost of the vehicle is pushing taxi drivers out of the industry and at what future unit price does the vehicle become unviable as a taxi?
