    No - until the people spoke. The problem is public sector pay. Our concern is that, for whatever reason, you said clearly at the event that we had not paid a penny. That is the kind of thing that potentially brings us into disrepute. I think we want to make it absolutely clear what happened. Since this is the first that most of us hearing about it, perhaps you could say what is in mind for July next year.

    I think it would be worth your while going over the chronology of this again. We did discuss it on the Friday, and in good faith I accepted that you would not be able to make it available. But the fact is that there were bound copies in circulation on Sunday night in Brighton; that members of the press had it - you say on Saturday - certainly by Sunday. I wonder whether you think it can be right that The Guardian, the Standard and others who happened to be at the Labour party conference saw that important report before...

    One thing that interests me in making the Assembly more people-friendly is arranging occasions when other people sit in our seats. One of those would be a children's Assembly. What we are thinking about is having some children in. Would you be prepared to do a question time if we had a children's Assembly?
