Minister, you mention quite specifically about the devolution of the coalition and also a reduction of quangos. Where does the Thames Gateway Corporation fit in to this new planning?

    • Reference: 2010/0047
    • Question by: Richard Barnbrook
    • Meeting date: 13 January 2010
Recently, Britain's new Information Commissioner Christopher Graham pledged to prosecute public officials who fail to comply with Freedom of Information laws. Bearing in mind that he once threatened the LDA with contempt of court for failure to disclose information under an FOI request, has the LDA now resolved to comply with its duty, and deal with such requests within the required time limits?
  • Key Priorities (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Richard Barnbrook
    • Meeting date: 13 January 2010
Good morning, gentlemen. We have heard about the fact of how London will survive without the LDA. We have also heard from Mr Duvall regarding the workings or possible wrong workings of the LDA. I want to touch on something that is a bit old and I hope is not going to occur again; that is perceived corruption within certain officers and employers of the LDA. One project comes to mind. I know it has been put to bed and I think it has been put to bed a bit too quickly; the Brixton project and the slap on the...
  • Oyster card information

    • Reference: 2009/0288-1
    • Question by: Richard Barnbrook
    • Meeting date: 09 December 2009
Complaints have been received by customers when dialling 0207 222 5600 and then requesting Oyster Cards information. Apparently customers were held in a queue for over 24 minutes despite the message advising they were only 3rd or 4th to be dealt with. After contacting customer services they were advised that the Oyster Cards information service are notorious for delays and that many complaints have been made. Are you aware of the complaints? Can anything be done to rectify this 'user un-friendly' system?

If Tube Lines do not renew their Public Private Partnership (PPP) Contract at the end of 2009, what are the contingency plans for finishing the Jubilee Line upgrade plus any other outstanding Tube Lines work and will PPP be dead in the water?
  • Risks (Supplementary) [8]

    • Question by: Richard Barnbrook
    • Meeting date: 11 November 2009
Good morning, Mr Mayor. My concern here regards confidence in the police. This will tie in with other Members who have mentioned the cautioning. I have statistics here in front of me that were brought to my notice during the [Assembly's] Budget and Performance Monitoring Sub-Committee. I appreciate both the Mayor and also yourself, Commissioner, have mentioned there are still problems that we have to face regarding burglary and also regarding violent crime. What I do have concerns about, and this is relating to the confidence in the police; it says that it has gone up 2% in the last...
  • Approach of Chairman of LFEPA (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Richard Barnbrook
    • Meeting date: 11 November 2009
Again, it is relating to the London Plan and forward planning across London. In my own borough and council of Barking and Dagenham there is the intention of between 15,000 and 25,000 new houses going up. This, in a sense, with the further request for more housing, both social and council, in the Ford area, in the marshes, would almost constitute a new ward being developed. Is there a possibility of future plans to upgrade the Dagenham Fire Station there on the grounds that, with this new development going forward between the next three and ten years, that there will...
  • Living Wage (Supplementary) [4]

    • Question by: Richard Barnbrook
    • Meeting date: 21 October 2009
): I am happy to hear that we are actually on track with this and so the rumours I have been hearing that we are six to eight months behind have obviously been expelled by yourselves by saying we are actually on track, financially and work-wise. One thing I do have a concern with - and I have to follow other Members here - is the Living Wage or at least working wage of the London weighting. What I would like to have spelt out clearly is you are suggesting, by this time, October 2010, there will be 10,000 workers...
  • Risks (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Richard Barnbrook
    • Meeting date: 21 October 2009
Sorry to interrupt. I appreciate this. What I am trying to get at here is this is a legacy not only for London but the UK Olympic Games. It seems rather crude that we are having to rely upon external sponsorship that may have its own kickbacks where we do not have direct funding from our Government on an education programme that I think is crucial to leave any purposeful legislation --
