    • Question by: Elizabeth Howlett

There is desperate need for a pedestrian crossing at the junction of upper Richmond Rd and Roehampton Lane SW15. Many schoolchildren have to use this crossing and cars turning left into Roehampton Lane can prove hazardous. Both these roads are outside the authority of the local Council and the responsibility of GLA and I would be grateful if a pedestrian crossing were installed with all speed

    • Question by: Elizabeth Howlett
    • Meeting date: 29 June 2000
Would you use your powers under Section 261 of the Greater London Authority Act 1999 ( which gives you power to modify the road network and return links back to Council control)to de-designate the A214 trinity road and Tooting Bec Road and the A3220 Elsbeth Road to Battersea Bridge for the following reasons: These roads are primarily residential, with stretches of narrow carriageway. Latchmere Road has sharp bends, a low bridge and suffers occasionally from flooding. They are not therefore very suitable as red routes.
