    Do you share my concern at the proposal to demolish the unique cruciform workhouse which currently forms part of the Oldchurch Hospital site, particularly as the building that will replace it is designed to be temporary?     In 1999, more people were diagnosed HIV+ than in any year since 1985. During the same period, the funding and resourcing of support centres was drastically cut by both Government, Health Authorities and local authorities, leading to the closure of many established centres across London. The government also failed to promote any nation-wide preventive campaign. The funding that was available was not confirmed or distributed until October of 1999, 6 months late, causing deep anxiety and financial pressure in voluntary organisations.     I have received a number of expressions of concern from my constituents who in seeking to return home to South London on the bus find that the bridge is packed with fully laden buses taking up to twenty minutes to cross London Bridge, partly because of the road works at the southern end of the bridge. Is there any action that the GLA could take to encourage a solution to this problem? .
