Transport for London, a GLA functional body, subsidises the Transport Museum. In recent years the subsidy has grown rapidly to over £2million annually, which represents a significant subsidy for each visitor. Given your past comments on the inadvisability of governments funding visitor attractions, can you comment on this, whether the right expertise exists within TfL to manage this important visitor attraction, and whether an alternative structure or funding mechanism might better serve Londoners, visitors to London and the museum? .
