    In June, the Mayor promised that a study to evaluate the case for installing closed circuit television on all London buses would report by late September (Q346/01). Following no sign of the report by mid-October, the Mayor said he expected the report by the end of November (Q616/01). Following no sign of the report now that it is mid-December, can the Assembly ever hope to see it? .

    The work that I am doing, together with the Office of Children's rights, to prepare the GLA's Children's strategy has made clear the importance of recognising the needs and views of children and young people. The Greater London Authority Act states that "in exercising their functions" the GLA must "have regard to the need to promote equality of opportunity for all persons irrespective of their.....age." However, the GLA's consultation processes do not routinely take children's views into account across all the Mayor's strategies. A GLA children's stakeholder group would solve this problem and provide this important fifth of London's population...

    At Mayor's Question Time on 20th June 2001, in response to my question (Q346/01) regarding closed circuit television on buses in the interests of passenger and staff safety, you informed the Assembly that Transport for London was undertaking a study to evaluate the case for installing closed circuit television on all London buses, and said that the study would report by late September. Has a report been produced and concealed or have plans been shelved? .
