Will you guarantee that the funding stream for TfL led cycle training in schools continue beyond 2005/06, with the Cycling Centre of Excellence having the ability to meet local demand from parents arising from the school travel plans. Would you consider going further than this and ask TfL to adopt a clear goal of ensuring that there is cycle training for all year 5 and 6 pupils, plus top up training for secondary schools?

Will you guarantee that TfL will allocate sufficient funds to Safe Routes to School to enable you to meet your manifesto commitment of every school in London being covered by 2009? Given the failure to increase expenditure on Safe Routes sufficiently in the current financial year, are you convinced that funding will rise quickly enough in future years to meet demand from parents and make up for lost time?

Given the success of TfL and many local authorities in London of reaching the 40% reduction target for Killed and Seriously Injured, will you guarantee that the increased levels of funding for this good work will continue? Is it time for London to lead the way in Britain, by adopting the more ambitious, but still achievable target of cutting the number of killed and seriously injured in half, buy 2010?
