    Although the impact on local parks and waterways was the major issue raised by residents of the Gallions Hill/ Thamesmead West area in the last consultation on the GWT, TfL continues to favour a route through this area which would result in loss of green spaces. If residents of the Gallions Hill area again reject the TfL preferred route in the current consultation, will you ensure their views are taken seriously and the GWT is routed along Western Way?

    Would it be possible for TfL to work with the relevant rail authorities to put up "switch off your engine while waiting" signs at road/rail crossings in London where there is more than a five minute delay. Can a system of occasional enforcement then be put in place to reinforce this message?

    Can you name the local authorities in London which have not got cycling officers working for them on a full time basis? Do you think it is possible to deliver on your election promises and other measures contained in the cycling action plan, without the councils playing their part?

    Do you agree that the success of the LCN should be measured in terms of sections of routes completed, rather than kilometres built? Do you agree that there is a temptation amongst the boroughs to do the easy bits, whilst leaving out the more difficult and hazardous junctions, etc..? For example, are you concerned that spending £3.5m on the LCN A4 Bath Road, has to be quickly followed by action to deal with the problems faced by cyclists at Waggoners and Henley's roundabouts.

    Will you be working in partnership with DEFRA to help them comply with the EU requirement to produce ambient noise maps by 2007. Will you try to ensure that aviation noise, as experienced by Londoners, is properly acknowledged within the official mapping of ambient noise? In addition to this work, would you be willing to adopt the system used in Sydney where specific locations are identified to show how many planes go over in a typical day and how noisy they are for the people under the flight path. This can then be made available in an accessible format easerly...

    What plans are being discussed for dealing with the major flow of returning holiday traffic into west London on bank holiday Monday, bearing in mind that the Carnival rarely finishes on time?
