  • Olympics Precept

    • Reference: 2005/2319
    • Question by: Sally Hamwee
    • Meeting date: 14 December 2005
Given that £20 per year is the amount that Londoners are familiar with as the household annual council tax levy for the Games, how will the Mayor deal with London residents (living in properties above Band D) when they find out that in reality they are paying up to £40 per year?
  • Funding for New Bus Routes

    • Reference: 2005/2342
    • Question by: Geoff Pope
    • Meeting date: 14 December 2005
Since TfL London Buses appear to be 'strapped for cash' when communities request new bus routes or modifications to existing routes, will you consider doubling the current funding available to them for trialling new or modified bus routes?
  • Transport Commissioner

    • Reference: 2005/2343
    • Question by: Sally Hamwee
    • Meeting date: 14 December 2005
Is Mr Kiley to be consultant to you in your capacity as Mayor or as Chair of TfL? What are the terms of his retirement from the post of Commissioner before the contractual termination date, and of his consultancy? If you have been advised that you are entitled to keep such information confidential, are you prepared to set such advice aside, in the obvious public interest?
  • Transport Commissioner's Residence

    • Question by: Dee Doocey
    • Meeting date: 14 December 2005

  • Payment in Advance for Congestion Charge

    • Reference: 2005/2351
    • Question by: Geoff Pope
    • Meeting date: 14 December 2005
How do you reconcile the recently introduced discount for monthly and annual congestion charges with your view that TfL is unlikely to offer a discount for the purchase of set number of days' congestion charge which drivers who live in the Congestion Charge zone could then 'use up' at their own convenience? Do we not want to encourage such forethought - or are you happier to collect the fines when honest motorists forget to pay the charge?
  • Olympics Precept (2)

    • Reference: 2005/2320
    • Question by: Sally Hamwee
    • Meeting date: 14 December 2005
A recent edition of The Londoner Newspaper stated that the Olympics precept would last for 12 years. Can you confirm that a decision has now been taken to extend the Olympics precept to 12 years? If the period is 10 years extended to 12 if necessary, then why was the information in The Londoner incorrect?
  • Olympics Precept (3)

    • Question by: Mike Tuffrey
    • Meeting date: 14 December 2005
Why are proposals for additional Core GLA staff and initiatives for the Olympics next year not paid for within the £20 a year Olympics Band D precept that Londoners have already been told about?
  • Olympics Staff

  • Organisational Chart of Olympics Bodies

    • Reference: 2005/2323
    • Question by: Sally Hamwee
    • Meeting date: 14 December 2005
Please set out staffing structures, together with costs, in both the GLA and FBs in connection with the Olympic and Paralympic Games, distinguishing between those directly required for the Games and those which will capitalise on the legacy aspects.
  • Are there sufficient minicabs?

    • Reference: 2005/2324
    • Question by: Geoff Pope
    • Meeting date: 14 December 2005
Now that up to 5,000 London pubs, bars and clubs are serving alcohol for longer under the Government's new licensing laws and given that 10,000 minicab drivers have left the industry since 2001, is there now a danger that there will be insufficient licensed minicabs in the early hours, and that the demand will be met by illegal touts?
