You may recall my earlier question (14 September MQT) regarding the noise and disturbance caused to local residents by the announcement system at Earl's Court Station. I have been in correspondence with Transport for London for some months now concerning the noise and vibration caused by Volvo buses using Chepstow Road, W2. Transport for London has assured me that the faults on the exhausts of these buses have been eradicated, and that they are in discussion with Volvo to ensure that the problem does not reoccur in the future. Are you aware that Labour Hammersmith and Fulham Council has come out and opposed the Congestion Charge Western Extension? Can you think why this might be? Could it be that they are worried about how electorally unpopular the policy is?
