    What are the practical implications of the clean venue requirements on 'The O2' as previously mentioned in Mayoral Question 2198 / 2005?     You may recall my earlier question (14 September MQT) regarding the noise and disturbance caused to local residents by the announcement system at Earl's Court Station. Following a meeting between myself, the GLA Head of Transport, a representative of local residents, London Underground, Environmental Health Officers and a local Councillor, it was understood and agreed that the Station Manager would instruct staff that announcements were to be strictly monitored and only those relating to Health and Safety issues were to be relayed over the PA system outside the hours of 9pm and 7.30am.     I have been in correspondence with Transport for London for some months now concerning the noise and vibration caused by Volvo buses using Chepstow Road, W2. Transport for London has assured me that the faults on the exhausts of these buses have been eradicated, and that they are in discussion with Volvo to ensure that the problem does not reoccur in the future.
