    In your plans for a commemoration of the abolition of slavery, what emphasis is to be given to celebrate the work of William Wilberforce, who was the driving force behind the decision to abolish slavery? Equally, what emphasis will be given to the fact that Britain led the way in the abolition of slavery whilst our European neighbours continued with this evil trade for much of the 19th century?
