Can the Mayor offer reassurance to commuters and residents in my constituency that the underpass between the Victoria Line and the bus station at Walthamstow Central, now opened after a very significant overrun, will have step-free access via the new lifts sooner than the six months currently estimated for an electricity sub-station to become operational in order to power them?

    • Question by: John Biggs
    • Meeting date: 12 December 2007
Can you summarise the cash or other contributions offered to date by various business and other stakeholders towards the costs of Crossrail? Where an agreement in principle has been made what are your assumptions about the amount offered? What undertaking was entered into regarding the offer made by the Corporation of London and from what sources do you understand this will be funded? If any of those promises fail to materialise what risk will that place on Crossrail?
