    Do you think that the restrictions on legal advice, associated with the Legal Services Commission's new Criminal Defence Service Direct service, which is basically a call centre with staff not necessarily qualified to the highest level, are compatible with the rights to a fair trial, including independent legal advice, under Article 6 of the European Convention Human Rights?

    Do you think it is right that defendants are compelled to use Criminal Defence Service Direct where a conviction would amount to a loss of their "good character" and therefore the implications would be that the offence would not be seen as "minor" either by the wider community or by their employers?

    Your press release which launched the London Youth Offer on 20th September 2007 said: 'The £60 million funding package will run over two years, £20 million will come from the Mayor's London Development Agency and £40 million from the Department for Children, Schools and Families.' Yet at Mayor's Question Time on 17th October 2007 you said: 'The Government is talking about £40 million per year, I'm talking about £20 million a year.' Which is it - £20 million in total or £20 million per year?
