    • Question by: Geoff Pope
    • Meeting date: 18 July 2007
In your Seventy Third report to the Assembly, you repeat your statement about looking forward to working with Gordon Brown. Instead of praising the new PM, should you not be asking him why as Chancellor he was responsible for you having to write in April 2001 'The Government seems hell-bent on imposing this dangerous, untried and inefficient scheme on London.' in relation to the PPP in respect of London Underground.

Can you explain how such a major failing as the derailment of a Central Line tube train between Mile End and Bethnal Green can have happened and whether you are satisfied that a watertight preventative strategy is now in place? • First Great Western

    • Reference: 2007/1555
    • Question by: Geoff Pope
    • Meeting date: 18 July 2007
In view of new figures showing that First Great Western's trains have reached a new low of 68.4% on punctuality (against a target of 92%) and significantly exceed the overcrowding target, with passenger satisfaction dropping to 53% (against an average satisfaction rating for London and the south-east of 77%); will you support my call to the government that they should urgently review First Great Western's franchise to see whether there are grounds for terminating it?
  • Enforcement survey findings

What are the findings of TfL's recent traffic survey to assess the impact of moving traffic enforcement on congestion, which was designed as a 'follow-up' to an initial, small scale survey carried out as part of London Councils' (ALG) pilot study into moving traffic traffic enforcement in 2004?

Why do not all the pedestrian crossings meet the latest safety standards, and when will they all be made compliant?
