    With the West London Tram project abandoned or postponed indefinitely, the Cross River Tram now failing to cross the river, and the Thames Gateway transits reduced to a couple of diesel-engined bus services, is there now a credible tram strategy? In the light of rocketing fuel costs, is this reliance on diesel-engined public transport sustainable in the medium term?
