Please confirm that you are going to stick to your Housing Manifesto commitment to cut the number of empty dwellings in London to 1% by 2011, rather than simply to reduce long-term empty homes to 1% of London's total housing stock as stated by your press release of 8 July - which in fact was achieved before you took office according to the Empty Homes Agency.

  • Thames Interceptor tunnel

    • Reference: 2008/1709
    • Question by: Mike Tuffrey
    • Meeting date: 10 September 2008
Thank you for your answer to my question 1084/2008 about the Thames Interceptor Tunnel, which is much needed to improve the water quality on the Thames. I entirely agree with you 'that the project is delivered in a time efficient way, without unacceptable impacts on local communities.' Would you therefore agree with me that comments from Hammersmith & Fulham Council saying that 'the super sewer would have virtually no impact on flooding situation and that it is designed purely to meet an EU regulation on pollution when in fact environmentalists are saying that the Thames is clean.' are totally inaccurate...
