  • Smoothing traffic flow

    • Reference: 2009/3793
    • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
    • Meeting date: 16 December 2009
Can you can confirm that TfL's own research shows that reducing the green man phase in favour of an increased green light phase for vehicular traffic increases the risk for pedestrians by prompting far greater tendencies to cross against the red man: specifically that pedestrian 'non-compliance' with the red man increases by 14% while vehicular throughput increases by only 6.5%?
  • Mobility impaired passengers: London Overground

    • Reference: 2009/3794
    • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
    • Meeting date: 16 December 2009
Given that there are no lifts at Leytonstone High Road or Leyton Midland Road stations on London Overground, TfL Customer Relations tell us that their current policy, where mobility impaired passengers need to travel either to or from an inaccessible station, is to provide a taxi to the nearest accessible transport link, and that the cost of the taxi will be covered by London Overground. How many taxi journeys of this kind have been made so far each month during 2009, and at what total cost to TfL ?
  • Crossrail compensation [1]

    • Reference: 2009/3795
    • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
    • Meeting date: 16 December 2009

  • Crossrail compensation [2]

    • Reference: 2009/3796
    • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
    • Meeting date: 16 December 2009
Why are TfL responding to protests by owners of Soho businesses against inadequate compensation by saying they are 'too busy to provide detailed responses'? Is not TfL's handling of the compensation issue likely to bring the whole Crossrail project into disrepute?

    • Reference: 2009/3798
    • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
    • Meeting date: 16 December 2009
Why were all train operating company station staff not fully briefed about acceptance of Oyster Pay-As-You-Go on rail ahead of the launch on 23 November, and seem to have had to rely on what they were able to read in the press about this initiative?
  • Bus services: Dalston Kingsland

    • Reference: 2009/3799
    • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
    • Meeting date: 16 December 2009

  • Toilet cabin, Friern Road SE22

    • Reference: 2009/3800
    • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
    • Meeting date: 16 December 2009
Planning permission to TfL or their agent was granted in November 2008 for a toilet cabin opposite 371 Friern Road, SE22 in Southwark, for the use of bus drivers. After a year no construction has started, or works completed, and this is causing anti-social problems in the locality. Can you advise why the construction of this cabin has been delayed?
