  • Norwood Junction - London Bridge (1)

    • Reference: 2009/3976
    • Question by: Steve O'Connell
    • Meeting date: 16 December 2009
Are you able to advise what the impact will be for Croydon residents travelling to and from London Bridge once Southern trains have altered their services on December 13th in order to take account of the London Overground expansion? How will the reduction in trains to London Bridge during the morning peak benefit commuters overall? What are the implications for Norwood Junction station as a busier interchange?
  • Norwood Junction - London Bridge (2)

    • Reference: 2009/3977
    • Question by: Steve O'Connell
    • Meeting date: 16 December 2009
Have Southern Trains provided a credible reason for removing services towards Norwood Junction from Charing Cross after 19:30 (as part of the South London Rail Utilisation Strategy that links up with London Overground expansion) and starting those services at London Bridge instead, thereby reducing access to and from the West End for Croydon residents during the late evening?

    • Question by: Steve O'Connell

    • Question by: Steve O'Connell
    • Meeting date: 16 December 2009

  • Godstone Road Pedestrian Crossing

    • Reference: 2009/4008
    • Question by: Steve O'Connell
    • Meeting date: 16 December 2009
Further to your answer in May to question 1041/2009 that work to build to pedestrian crossings on Godstone Road, please confirm when work will start on this crossing as the original plan was for January 2009, then it became mid-2009, then in this financial year and still no progress has been made in starting or delivering the crossing?
  • Funding for Crossrail

    • Reference: 2009/0300-1
    • Question by: Steve O'Connell
    • Meeting date: 09 December 2009
Given that many areas in London will not substantially benefit from Crossrail, would it be more appropriate for funds payable towards Crossrail, by business and developers in those locations, to be diverted to finance improvements in local bus, rail, tram or underground services?

    • Question by: Steve O'Connell
    • Meeting date: 18 November 2009

  • LABGI

    • Reference: 2009/3638
    • Question by: Steve O'Connell
    • Meeting date: 18 November 2009
Sutton Council has recently decided to spend 70% (£181,000) of its Local Authority Business Growth Incentive (LABGI) fund on the start-up costs for a controversial £8m project called the Sutton Life Centre, instead of investing in local businesses which may be struggling during these harsh economic times in accordance with the spirit of this scheme. Does the Mayor of London agree that LABGI money could be better spent on supporting local businesses during the ongoing recession?
  • Ben Gardner

    • Reference: 2009/3637
    • Question by: Steve O'Connell
    • Meeting date: 18 November 2009
The tragic and senseless murder of Mr Ben Gardner in Sutton on Halloween occurred when people were looking for taxis at 3am. The Police have been unable to secure the provision of a marshalled taxi rank outside Sutton Police Station which may help reduce antisocial behaviour. Will the Mayor of London use his offices to break the bureaucratic deadlock in Transport for London to enable this to be implemented?
