    • Reference: 2010/1098
    • Question by: Dee Doocey
    • Meeting date: 17 March 2010
Do you support the use of the so-called Cardiff model of tackling knife crime, developed by Professor Jonathan Shepherd, where accident and emergency departments collect anonymous data on the precise location and time of violent incidents involving knife crime and with the data then shared with the crime and disorder reduction partnership? If so, what steps have you taken to encourage its greater use across the whole of London?

    • Question by: Dee Doocey
    • Meeting date: 17 March 2010
Your answer to my question 140/2010 states that Special Constables joining after 31 March 2010 will be required to work a minimum of 25 hours a month (i.e. 300 hours a year). Yet your answer to my question 503/2010 states 'There is no increase in the hours expected by officers recruited under the Employer Supported Scheme (ESP) officers will continue to be supported by their employer to perform 200 duty hours annually'. Can you explain the apparent discrepancy between these two statements? Can you also let me have, for each of the next 3 financial years, your estimate of how...
  • Working hours for Special Constables

    • Reference: 2010/1101
    • Question by: Dee Doocey
    • Meeting date: 17 March 2010
Your answer to my question 503/2010 states 'There is no increase in the hours expected by officers recruited under the Employer Supported Scheme (ESP) officers will continue to be supported by their employer to perform 200 duty hours annually' [i.e. 16 hours a month]. This would appear to contradict the MPS website which states that: 'Employers work with the MPS to recruit their staff into the Metropolitan Special Constabulary (MSC). Staff are provided up to 12 ½ hours per month paid special leave to patrol in areas relevant and/or local to their day job or employing sector. The other 12...

  • Olympic Engagement programme

    • Reference: 2010/1104
    • Question by: Dee Doocey

Your Mayoral Decision 559 lists the 'Look of London' as one of five priority projects, within the Olympic City Operations programme, that the GLA intends to raise revenue for. How much money are you hoping to raise specifically for this, and is it necessary to raise money in addition to the £32 million already included within the £9.325 billion public sector funding package for the Games?
  • Olympic and Paralympic ticketing

    • Reference: 2010/1105
    • Question by: Dee Doocey
    • Meeting date: 17 March 2010
Historically, it would appear that European law has been interpreted in a number of different ways by the organising committees of sporting events. Indeed, tickets for the UEFA Europa League football final to be held in May 2010 went on sale to people living in Germany well before a wider audience. On behalf of Londoners, will you seek independent legal advice to see whether it is possible under European law to give discounted tickets for the 2012 Games to any particular group of people within London?
