The 'General Consents' issued by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government 'for the Disposal of Land held for the purposes of Part II of the Housing Act 1985 - 2013' permit a local authority to dispose of an unoccupied dwelling-house to a person who intends to use it as their only or principal home. However, I understand that sales of former housing co-operative homes in Lambeth - where the council has actively obtained possession - have not followed in a number of cases.
