  • Charges for Public Charging Points for Electric Cars

    • Reference: 2017/0261
    • Question by: Len Duvall OBE
    • Meeting date: 18 January 2017
A constituent of mine bought an electric vehicle last spring, mindful of the air quality issues in London. The annual cost to use the charging points was £5 per year at that time. This has been increased to £4 per month as of January 2017, an increase of 960%. In addition to this, it costs over £8 for each charge. The cost of using the petrol tank in this car is now not much more in monetary terms but is in environmental terms. What is your view on this and will you investigate this matter further.
