A constituent has raised concerns with me about a recent difficult journey. They suffered delays due to an out-of-order lift, poor understanding of train/platform gaps at a station and miscommunication between staff at different stations, which made for an exhausting and extended late-night trip. Journeys for people who need step-free access often depend on a combination of Transport for London (TfL) and National Rail services. What are you doing to ensure there is full cooperation and understanding between staff at all London stations so that disabled passengers can rely on assistance across the transport network?

Constituents are surprised by your answer to my question 2019/17407 where you stated: “there has been no reduction in the offer of Community Road Watch (CRW) schemes in London. The Metropolitan Police Service has simply made some administrative changes in the back office.” I have now heard from volunteers in several boroughs that their local police will only support up to two or three CRW sessions per month and that they can only last up to 45 minutes each. Are these limits due to “changes in the back office” or are there other reasons for this cut to CRW sessions?

In September 2019 I visited the Sarah Hope Line with other members of the Transport Committee to see their work to support people affected by serious incidents involving Transport for London (TfL) services. Caseload figures shared with the Committee show that most of the support they give is for users of public transport services. Will you promote the Sarah Hope line to people involved in serious collisions while walking and cycling on London’s roads?

Transport for London (TfL) has said, in response to its July 2019 20 mph consultation on safe speeds for central London, that it will bring forward speed reductions: “to some of the most high-risk areas in inner and outer London as part of the second phase.” Please list the locations of these high-risk areas and when each of them will be delivered.
