I understand that London Underground has made a request to the Department for Transport for an exemption under the Rail Vehicle Accessibility Regulations (RVAR) to permanently remove ‘next station’ on train passenger announcements, when trains are stationary at stations, with the request covering the Bakerloo, Central, Piccadilly and Waterloo & City lines. What are the grounds for such a request being made and what consultation, if any, was undertaken by TfL with disability groups before making this request to the Department?
