  • 60+ Oyster Card – Removal of travel ban during morning peak

    • Reference: 2020/4544
    • Question by: Navin Shah
    • Meeting date: 17 December 2020
Thank you for your response to my question about, in my view, the discriminatory ban on use of 60+ Freedom Pass during morning peak hours. After months of this imposition by DfT there is no sign of the removal of this restriction. What steps are you taking to demand that the Government removes this condition forthwith? If the ban is not lifted when you are negotiating the next TfL funding can you give me assurance that you would lobby the DfT to lift this condition?

Are LTN schemes blunt tools, failing to achieve the desired benefits of the Streetspace programme to promote healthy streets? In some case they are having negative impact. So, don’t you think the current implementation procedures need replacing by more effective and collaborative work between TfL, Department of Transport and Councils ensuring that due consultations and equality impact assessments are undertaken before implementation and there are clear strategies to monitor the outcomes and reviews?
