  • Question and Answer Session: Policing (Supplementary) [6]

    • Question by: Lord Bailey of Paddington
    • Meeting date: 01 December 2022
Shaun Bailey AM: Thank you, Chair. Trust and confidence in the police in the Black community is at an all-time low, and we can all agree that disproportionality is a big part of that. The disproportionality is the rate at which our children get murdered, and the amount of Black children and people who are involved as both perpetrator and victim of crime. Given this, what plan do the police have to take some of these weapons off the streets? I address that to Sir Mark first.
  • Question and Answer Session: Policing (Supplementary) [13]

    • Question by: Krupesh Hirani
    • Meeting date: 01 December 2022
Krupesh Hirani AM: Thank you, Chair, and my question is to Sir Mark first of all. You told the October 2022 Police and Crime Committee that: “What the public should see is us stabilising our neighbourhood policing, so people are less abstracted ...” Between quarter 1 (Q1) of 2020/21 and quarter 1 of 2022/23, the abstraction level for Dedicated Ward Officers fluctuated between 3.6% and 9.9%. I recently met with the ward panel representative of Queensbury Ward in my constituency in the London Borough of Brent, and it was a real issue that they were raising with their local Safer...
  • Question and Answer Session: Proposed Revision to the Mayor of London's Transport Strategy (Supplementary) [11]

    • Question by: Krupesh Hirani
    • Meeting date: 17 November 2022
Krupesh Hirani AM: Thank you, Chair. This is to the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. What health benefits have been achieved by expanding ULEZ to the North and South Circular Roads so far?
  • Question and Answer Session: Legacy of the 2012 London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (Supplementary) [4]

    • Question by: Lord Bailey of Paddington
    • Meeting date: 06 October 2022
Shaun Bailey AM: Thank you, Chair. Good afternoon, panel. The Mayor has made no secret of his desire for another Olympic Games and he used the phrasing, it will be “the greenest Games ever” because we already have the kit. Do we already have the kit though? As we know, the Stadium is locked in a contract, a 99-year deal or something along those lines. So do we actually have the kit? Let me start with the Deputy Mayor and then I will come to Lyn.
  • Adult Education Budget (Supplementary) [13]

    • Question by: Krupesh Hirani
    • Meeting date: 08 September 2022
Krupesh Hirani AM: Thank you, Chair. The latest available figures show that as of June [2022], London’s National Health Service (NHS) had a record vacancy rate for fulltime staff exceeding 30,000 unfilled positions. I recognise that the Mayor does not have any statutory powers over the running of health and social care in London but there are still ways in which the GLA can support the sector, particularly around non-clinical and non-medical roles in the NHS, and social care as well. Deputy Mayor, what are you and the Mayor doing to support the health and social care sector in London?
  • Adult Education Budget (Supplementary) [21]

    • Question by: Lord Bailey of Paddington
    • Meeting date: 08 September 2022
Shaun Bailey AM: Thank you, Chair. I just want to return to this theme of ethnicity. Is ethnicity a good way to decide how you spend your resource?
  • Adult Education Budget (Supplementary) [7]

    • Question by: Lord Bailey of Paddington
    • Meeting date: 08 September 2022
Shaun Bailey AM: Good morning, Michelle and Jules, I hope you are doing well. Great to see you again. Long time, no see. How do London’s enrolment and qualification rates compare to other AEBs across the country?
