    • Question by: John Biggs
    • Meeting date: 20 January 2016
While not opposed to 24 hour tube operation, a constituent has given me cause to question its Benefit-Cost appraisal. Has this been published? Has it been independently scrutinised? Given that most of the benefits are apparently thought to accrue to the Central London economy, can you clarify precisely what these will be and how many additional passengers are expected to use the 24 hour services.

    • Question by: John Biggs

  • Cycling on Pavements (1)

    • Reference: 2015/4016
    • Question by: John Biggs
    • Meeting date: 16 December 2015
A constituent has asked me to ask you the following question: Yesterday I saw two PCSOs stop a man cycling on the pavement in Commercial Road. They spoke to him and he walked off from them, pushing his bike along and then when he got out of their grasping range, got back on the bike and cycled off, shouting abuse at them and giving them a two finger salute. What action is the Mayor taking to deter cycling on pavements which is dangerous to pedestrians, particularly those with visual disabilities?

  • LFEPA Cuts and the Safety of Londoners (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: John Biggs
    • Meeting date: 02 December 2015
Mayor John Biggs AM: Thank you very much for your earlier answers. I obviously have a parochial interest as the Assembly Member for East London. Particularly Newham but also Tower Hamlets have been adversely affected by the closure of fire stations and the loss of appliances. In your current proposals, potentially we lose another three appliances in Poplar, Plaistow and Stratford and a fourth nearby in Shoreditch. Can you tell us what the cumulative impact would be on residents in my constituency in East London and whether there would be more areas that will fall outside the six-minute response time...
