UNISON supports the campaign against public sector purchasing of products made with Uyghur forced labour, including in the solar industry and solar supply chains. • Improving London's Crumbling Hospital Infrastructure (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Onkar Sahota
    • Meeting date: 13 October 2022
Dr Onkar Sahota AM: Yes, this is about health. Look, I am concerned that we are building new hospitals here, but this is not a back door way for reducing the number of beds in London. The real issue we have is the number of beds and that the hospital rebuilding programme is not used to cut the number of beds in London, because we have the lowest number of beds in Europe for the population we have. • Hillingdon Early Years Centres Closures

    • Question by: Onkar Sahota
    • Meeting date: 15 September 2022
Hillingdon Council is closing its three early years centres in December. It claims that financial pressures caused by rising inflation have forced it to make efficiencies. While you do not have ultimate responsibility for childcare, given your work on early years, do you share my concern that the closure of the centres will place many families in financial hardship, as private providers are very expensive, and what support can you provide families facing high childcare costs?
