  • Catering at Games' Venues (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Richard Barnes
    • Meeting date: 21 October 2009
Will your Food Strategy apply to all of the Olympic venues? I mean not just those within the Park but Weybridge, Broxbourne, Dorney Wood, Manchester United's football ground. Will it apply to all of them, even those commercial premises which you are hiring in for the period of the Games?
  • Risks (Supplementary) [6]

    • Question by: Richard Barnes
    • Meeting date: 21 October 2009
Thank you. One of your reputational risks hangs on the slogan that was used throughout the bidding process, after we got it and until today, which is 'The most accessible Games ever'. It is delivering the most accessible Games ever which you will be judged by, in many ways. Now it is relatively easy to deliver accessible Games within six stadia, however there are a number of - what I believe is called - free to view events; pentathlons, long distance walking, marathons, for those who are not aware. How are you going to ensure that the mobility impaired and...
  • Limousines and chauffeurs for the Met's senior officers (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Richard Barnes
    • Meeting date: 14 October 2009
Mr Mayor, I was going to ask if you would accept some clarity that the first meeting that Dee Doocey attended was under Len Duvall's chairmanship, the Labour Member, and perhaps her bitterness is exacerbated because she had a puncture that day, did you not? In the car park. You did, my dear, but it was under the previous administration.
  • 2012 Paralympic Games (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Richard Barnes
    • Meeting date: 09 September 2009
Will you assure Dee Doocey and, indeed, the Assembly that we are doing everything that we possibly can to ensure that both the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games are the most accessible Games that have ever been held and that accessibility covers free to view viewing for the disabled people at both of these elements of the Games and accessibility does mean television contracts. The latter, which is not within your control, may be influenced but it is certainly questionable but, given the prominence we are giving to the Paralympic Games, it will be foolish of the television schedulers...
  • Inflation and fares (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Richard Barnes
    • Meeting date: 09 September 2009
Is it not the truth, Mr Mayor - and I note John Biggs has disappeared before he can hear it - that, thanks to the financial incompetence of this Government and its failure to begin to project what local government financing and rate support grants are going to be next year that all of us involved in local government are, almost, living in the dark because we do not know what our funding is going to be next year? We do accept the honesty of the opposition - the current opposition - that there will be cuts in national funding...
  • Ealing Council

    • Reference: 2009/2049
    • Question by: Richard Barnes
    • Meeting date: 15 July 2009
Will the Mayor join with me in congratulating Ealing Council for winning the Municipal Journal's Best Council award?
  • South Parade Bus Stop

    • Reference: 2009/1492
    • Question by: Richard Barnes
    • Meeting date: 17 June 2009
South Parade is prone to heavy traffic jams mainly due to the narrowness of the road plus the resident parking bays all along the south side. Given this, and given that the proposed design would build out the pavement even further into the road creating a serious pinch point, could the Mayor instruct TfL to reconsider their proposal to place a bus stop for the 272 bus route on South Parade?
  • North Acton Tube Station

    • Reference: 2009/1493
    • Question by: Richard Barnes
    • Meeting date: 17 June 2009
London Underground vehicles have been parking illegally on a pavement outside a residential building beside North Acton Tube Station while carrying out work at night. Furthermore, the noise from those at work, including the slamming of vehicle doors and shouting, is intolerable for nearby residents. Will the Mayor instruct London Underground to ensure that this is stopped immediately?
  • Ealing Broadway Station

    • Reference: 2009/1494
    • Question by: Richard Barnes
    • Meeting date: 17 June 2009
Why is there no mention of the redevelopment of Ealing Broadway Station in Crossrail's most recent newsletter?
  • Mayor's Opening Statement (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Richard Barnes
    • Meeting date: 17 June 2009
Mr Mayor, is not our responsibility the prevention of accidents in the first place, not just simply reducing them and that, whilst I understand Kit's [Malthouse] financial approach to the issue a socio-cost analysis does not really help us to live up to our moral obligations?
