The 2016 Affordable Housing Programme will build 116,000 affordable homes for £4.82 billion while the 2021 Affordable Housing Programme will build 82,000 for £4 billion. I just heard you mention rising building costs and so I am sure that is one of the reasons, but why does it cost just under £49,000 to fund an affordable home today when it cost £41,500 in 2016? What has changed?
