    • Question by: Samantha Heath

Just going on from that, there are two areas I think we wanted to dig in a little bit on. The first question is around the evidence that came from the London Renewables group, which the LDA are participating in. The consultant there said that the problem is not to do with skills today, but to do with regulation today, because there are a lot of ersatz double-glazing salesmen who are putting solar panels on roofs. Does the LDA have a role in terms of looking at regulation? That is part of the confidence in building a renewables industry, i.e...

  • Flood Management (Supplementary) [15]

    • Question by: Samantha Heath
    • Meeting date: 17 March 2004
We have worked with you extensively on our flooding report, and Darren Johnson actually signed up to that, so I was quite surprised at the Green Group's questioning. But the issues that we did identify that were of concern to the Committee were the commitment to the Green Grid, in terms of work you have done with the ODPM and we do recognise that the ODPM have actually recently announced more funding for the Green Grid. But I wanted to get a sense of how important they thought it was, and also to do with the Kate Barker report that...

  • London Plan (Supplementary) [6]

    • Question by: Samantha Heath
    • Meeting date: 25 February 2004
I would like to talk about the transport issue and the affordable housing issue. In order to deal with the current housing construction that is taking place, we have a couple of issues when densification does not actually come with improvements in transport. I have already raised the issue of how boroughs deal with that with travel leaving this building and going over to the ALG. It is the relationship that TfL actually has with travel that concerns me and the work they are doing in looking at planning applications and transport applications. What can we do when recalcitrant boroughs...
  • London Plan (Supplementary) [7]

    • Question by: Samantha Heath
    • Meeting date: 25 February 2004
What can we do when a planning application has already been granted but you still have not seen the transport assessment, and there does not seem to be any requirement from the boroughs to see it?
