  • Zone Discounts (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Elizabeth Howlett
    • Meeting date: 15 November 2006
That really is very unfortunate to hear. We know the western extension is really one of your daftest ideas. Nobody wants it. It looks neat on a map I can tell you that, but it is a waste of time. You are going to cause so much congestion in other parts of South London. People now in Battersea will be driving west in order to get over Wandsworth Bridge or Putney Bridge in order to avoid this area, and you are going to cause mayhem. I think this is one of the worst things you have done, and I am...
  • Kingsway International Christian Centre (Supplementary) [4]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 15 November 2006
Thank you for what you said about land acquisition. I certainly welcome the settlement that has been made with KICC, as it is within my constituency, and it is right to see fair treatment to this organisation. The concerns I have are about the smaller communities, mainly the traveller communities. I know we are down the way with the resettlement of the Hackney traveller community, they were expressing concerns to me last week about members of other traveller communities within the five Borough Zone. I want you to reaffirm your commitment to ensuring that the traveller communities will get fair...
  • Management & Financing (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Richard Barnes
    • Meeting date: 08 November 2006
A final question, Chair. Within the management structures of the policing across London, are you content that the command structure across London with the three police services will meet the challenge of the Olympic Games?
  • Notting Hill Carnival (Supplementary) [6]

    • Question by: Damian Hockney
    • Meeting date: 13 September 2006
Mayor, if you do not want to run Carnival, why run an event like the Showcase? If you look at Angie's (Bray) question just now this links into it You said initially in the first authorisation, that it would cost the GLA (Greater London Authority) £68,000. We then move on ' a few weeks later ' the day before the Carnival and we are told that Bliss Events are going to be paid £150,000.
  • Notting Hill Carnival (Supplementary) [7]

    • Question by: Damian Hockney
    • Meeting date: 13 September 2006
This is relevant Chair I assure you, honestly. Initially, you say that the balance of £230,000 would be met by sponsorship income and income from stalls. We tried even right up until the day before to find out where this is coming, and finally we learn, last week, that it is the LDA (London Development Agency) that is spending.
  • Mayor's Report (Supplementary) [13]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 13 September 2006
I've got three questions I would like to put to the Mayor. Can I just start off Mayor, by saying to you, in the words of one of my constituents, Roger Gillam, well done to you and TfL and all the staff. He talks about the fact that we in North East London are absolutely delighted that you have brought forward some of the planned work from phase two into phase one; that's excellent.
  • Mayor's Report (Supplementary) [21]

    • Question by: Geoff Pope
    • Meeting date: 13 September 2006
Well, we will try and help you out, if that happens. When that happens.
  • Mayor's Report (Supplementary) [32]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 13 September 2006
No, I am going on to that, if you do not mind. The issue that he (Mr Gillam) has highlighted to me just last night in a four page letter is, you talked about the £2.1 billion and of course the revenue stream associated with that for the payback, but does that cover the necessary work that is needed in terms of extending the platforms? We would be unhappy if we're just going to stay with the three line track that exists; We would still be pushing for the four line alignment. Can we be assured that this package will...
  • Investing in Tobacco Companies (Supplementary) [6]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 13 September 2006
Can I just add to the statistics that you have got there, that I was at a conference two days ago, and what we learnt there, from the latest figures, was that tobacco companies need over 700 people a day ' this is young people, under 20 ' to start smoking, and that is why this is such a critical issue.
  • TfL Advertising (Supplementary) [7]

    • Question by: Roger Evans
    • Meeting date: 13 September 2006
About whether it is political advertising?
