  • New Year's Resolution (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Caroline Russell
    • Meeting date: 21 December 2023
Caroline Russell AM: Thank you, Chair. As my new year resolution for City Hall, I think we can all agree that the office of the Mayor of London should not be for sale in the new year. I made public earlier this week that United Airlines secured free publicity and final sign off on City Hall materials in exchange for business class flights for your trip to the United States [of America] (USA) in May 2022. Now, Mr Mayor, it sounds like this may have been a one-off error of judgement, but the months-long delay in responding to our questions...

    • Question by: Caroline Russell
    • Meeting date: 14 September 2023
Could you provide the rationale and financial implications of the decision to contract Corporate Travel Management (CTM) as the GLA’s travel booking provider, and are you content with this relationship given the company’s £1.6 billion contract to provide the Home Office with asylum accommodation ships?
  • Oral Update to the Mayor's Report (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Caroline Russell
    • Meeting date: 22 June 2023
Caroline Russell AM: Thank you, Chair. Just very briefly, we in the Green Group are deeply concerned by the new evidence that has emerged that the Mayor has just raised involving the conduct of a member of the Police and Crime Committee, which I chair. All of us in the Assembly have a responsibility to uphold the highest standards in public office. We are the voice of London and Londoners expect us to abide by the law. I personally would like to request a meeting with the leader of the Conservative Group to discuss this matter and I would just...
  • State of London Debate 2023

    • Reference: 2023/2607
    • Question by: Caroline Russell
    • Meeting date: 22 June 2023
A report to the GLA Oversight Committee on the State of London Debate 2023, tabled on 24 May 2023, states that “disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated, with a right of non-admittance to previously known protagonists.” Could you tell me: a) what is the definition of a “previously known protagonist”, b) who will identify “previously known protagonists” ahead of the event and how, c) will “previously known protagonists” be informed that they have been identified as such ahead of the event, d) what third parties will be engaged in the security of the event in addition to the GLA security...
  • State of London Debate 2022

    • Reference: 2023/0646
    • Question by: Caroline Russell
    • Meeting date: 23 February 2023
On their way into the State of London Debate 2022, a number of young people from Green New Deal Rising (GNDR) were identified by a plain clothes official who recognised their faces and called out their names. The young people involved are understandably concerned about how they came to the attention of the security teams at the event. Could you explain how the campaigners were identified, and do you share my concerns that this kind of invasive security looks repressive and secretive? Could you tell me: a) how many people have used this service since its launch, b) how are you quantifying if the advice received has led to warmer and better ventilated homes, and c) could you share this data with me?
  • Meanwhile use of the current City Hall building

    • Reference: 2021/4425
    • Question by: Caroline Russell
    • Meeting date: 18 November 2021
What are you doing to encourage the meanwhile use of the City Hall building, for community, cultural and educational benefit, after we leave and before any new tenants arrive? Managing this could be usefully entrusted by our landlords to a local community organisation, such as Living Bankside, and you are the right person to facilitate such discussions between these parties.
  • Reviewing GLA toilets with an access consultant

    • Reference: 2021/4070
    • Question by: Caroline Russell
    • Meeting date: 14 October 2021
A constituent has contacted me raising concern about the design of toilets for people with disabilities, as they are not all suitable for all users. After raising these concerns during a visit to the Design Museum, they committed to having their whole building surveyed by an access consultant. Will you review toilets on the GLA estate with an access consultant?
