Currently the distinction between trial and privately owned e-scooters involved in collisions is recorded as part of a free text field, and there are a high proportion of collisions where the police officer does not identify the type of e-scooter involved. In London in the year ending June 2022, in 418 collisions involving e-scooters the ownership type was not recorded. What is the MPS doing to ensure that the ownership type of an e-scooter involved in a collision is recorded?
