Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines for occupational exposure to 'dust' have not changed since 1998, yet the health effects of exposure to air pollution have become much better understood in recent years. Will you therefore adopt the precautionary principles put forward by the Institute of Occupational Medicine (IOM) and Trades Union Congress (TUC), who suggest that employers should aim to keep exposure to 'respirable' and 'inhalable' dust below 1 mg/m3 and 5 mg/m3 respectively?
