Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. This morning because of the Fire Service dispute, I intend to use my powers under Standing Order 2.40 first to take an item of urgent business, which is a statement from the Chair of LFEPA and to vary the order of business to take that first. Would the Chair of LFEPA accept that from the Liberal Democrats side we have been supportive of the basic position that more money is possible and is justified but only in return for modernised working practices? And if so, will she accept that too few people in the public, in the media, actually understand the extent of the current practices and what is required? I read in the newspapers that the Bain Report terms of reference were not actually agreed by the union and that they were very unhappy with the terms of the report. Now, the result of the report is absolutely dependent upon the terms that you set at the beginning. Is it true that the union was unhappy with it?

I wonder if the Chair of LFEPA could outline very briefly the liaison which LFEPA has had with Chief Executives of London boroughs and whether she is satisfied that there is proper and close co-operation between the Fire Authority and London's boroughs in this matter. I understand, particularly, that the Army services will not attend any lift breakdowns, which is presumably an issue for many of our London boroughs with their tower blocks. I wonder if she could also assure the Assembly that arrangements are in place to deal with any possible intimidation by members of the FBU of those...

The Chair of LFEPA has not answered the issue about intimidation and arrangements in place for those staff who wish to work normally and for those non-uniformed staff who wish to carry on with their duties.

Thank you. I think you have just demonstrated the point, actually. You've given a reasonably full answer on tourism, which is something we should have had before. If it wasn't Functional Bodies Question Time today, would we have had that information? The point about this whole debate, and I think you're getting it cross-party actually, is the feeling that you stick out like a sore thumb in your attitude towards openness and accountability, not just to the public. I share a number of the concerns that Tony's outlined and if we can perhaps particularly focus on the website. We're supposed to be, as the GLA family, into open government and the web approach was something that was an ethos that the Mayor and others agree is a great way of people having access. However, if you go onto the LDA website it seems, as Tony says, that you control what comes out in terms of press releases and I haven't yet managed to find the minutes on the website. Maybe I'm just not very good at browsing. But...
