My constituents are concerned about proposals by the North London Waste Authority to replace the current incinerator in Edmonton with a much larger one. They claim that toxic pollution will harm everyone who lives, works and studies nearby, in one of London’s most deprived neighbourhoods. Although it is not based within my NE London constituency, it will serve residents in Hackney, Islington and Waltham Forest, as well as in Camden, Barnet and Enfield. My constituents share the concerns of those who live in Edmonton itself. Can you reassure them that their worries will be heeded?
