Your answer to 2123/2006 advised that the Corporation of London holds contracts to provide collection and disposal services for municipal hazardous waste. It also stated that only 1500 collections were made each year ("a pitifully small number"). Given that London has more than three million households, most of which will sometimes have hazardous waste, including paints and household and garden chemicals, where is the vast majority of London's municipal hazardous waste going?

Are you aware of the complex bureaucratic steps which a resident must take to arrange a collection of hazardous waste (old paints etc) by the Corporation of London, including form filling and packing containers in sealed boxes? Will you ask your waste team to discuss with the Corporation of London how to make the service simpler for residents to use?
