  • Government Grant to TfL (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Richard Tracey
    • Meeting date: 18 November 2015
Richard Tracey AM: OK. Thank you, Chair. Mr Mayor, I am rather intrigued by this line of questioning from my Transport Committee colleague Val Shawcross because she is worrying, quite rightly, about any potential loss of any of the wonderful bus services we have, but at the same time, as you and I discussed earlier, the Labour Party ‑‑ Boris Johnson MP (Mayor of London): I was hoping you would bring this up. Richard Tracey AM: ‑‑ is talking about a four-year freeze in fares, a £2 billion loss ‑‑ Boris Johnson MP (Mayor of London): --hopelessly. Richard Tracey AM...
  • Oral Update on the Report of the Mayor (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Richard Tracey
    • Meeting date: 18 November 2015
Richard Tracey AM: Mr Mayor, I applaud the various elements of the announcement you have made about future TfL fares across London. Interestingly enough, on about the same day that you made your announcement, the Labour candidate for the mayoralty, Sadiq Khan ‑‑ Boris Johnson MP (Mayor of London): Who? Richard Tracey AM: ‑‑ talked about freezing all fares for four years. You have obviously gone through the figures. How could he possibly make such a promise?
  • Tourism in Outer London (Supplementary) [4]

    • Question by: Richard Tracey
    • Meeting date: 04 November 2015
Richard Tracey AM: I must say that all the foreign visitors I talk to, whether I know them well or not, complain about the large numbers in central London now. It is a buzzy city but it is also, they feel, very crowded, extremely busy and quite tiring. This is a well‑targeted question that Tony Arbour [AM] has put to you about outer London. Can I ask you what you are doing particularly? How much are you spending to encourage people to take a river cruise? Indeed, they will reach Tony Arbour’s constituency. Tony Arbour AM (Deputy Chairman): They will...
  • London's overseas reputation (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Richard Tracey
    • Meeting date: 04 November 2015
Richard Tracey AM: Can I just ask you one or two more questions about the European dimension? It is right, is it not, that more Americans visit London as a tourist destination than any other European city? Is it also not correct that there is more trade done by this country - and by London, obviously - with Asia and with the Americas than, indeed, with Europe? My question to you, really, is: are you intending to ask a specific question in any survey you do of tourists particularly about the attractions of London as opposed to Europe or in...

  • Driverless Buses (1)

    • Reference: 2015/3287
    • Question by: Richard Tracey

  • One Hour Bus Ticket

    • Reference: 2015/3289
    • Question by: Richard Tracey

  • Diesel Emissions (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Richard Tracey
    • Meeting date: 21 October 2015
Richard Tracey AM: Mr Mayor, you were talking about various measures that could be taken, perhaps, to cut down on pollution apart from the measures to do with the vehicles themselves. Could I ask about perhaps various devices in planning? In other words, in my constituency in Putney High Street we have a particular problem with pollution.
  • Starter Homes (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Richard Tracey
    • Meeting date: 21 October 2015
Richard Tracey AM: Thank you, Madam Chair. Mr Mayor, do you remember that when you first became Mayor ‑‑ Boris Johnson MP (Mayor of London): I do. It was a glorious day. Richard Tracey AM: ‑‑ I introduced you to the excellent Wandsworth Council Hidden Homes scheme? Boris Johnson MP (Mayor of London): I do. The ‘hobbit homes’. Richard Tracey AM: You visited one. Boris Johnson MP (Mayor of London): Yes, we did that together. Yes, that is right. Richard Tracey AM: Is that not something that should be promoted to the Government further?
