Can you please supply a summary of the impact of the 2012 Olympics on the MPS Budget between now and 2013? There have been suggestions that some aspects of security in the Budget for 2012 are not allowed for in either the MPS Budget or the revised 2012 Budget. Policing at Notting Hill Carnival was successful but there remain flashpoints (in particular at the end of the final day). Having been present and witnessed some of these difficulties at first hand, I can confirm that there is general agreement that the MPS handled them well, and that earlier intelligence-led operations and planning decisions had a very positive impact, but is there anything further that can be done to try and prevent the Monday problems?
