How will TfL bear down on fares and introduce more flexible ticketing from January 2015?

Mr Mayor, I think we have to draw an inference from what has been said about fares in this question. That is what the question was originally about. We have to draw the inference that perhaps the Labour Party believes that fares should not have risen at all since 2008 when you took over as Mayor of London. Can I ask if there is any estimate of how much revenue TfL would have had to sacrifice to keep the fares down for such a long period?

I would like to get some idea. Seeing as the headline of the question was “2016 achievements”, I would like to explore some of the things that you feel you are still looking to achieve by 2016, particularly in southeast London, which is the area that I represent. Obviously one of your very high profile transport achievements is the timely introduction of a New Bus for London. I would like to know when we will see more of the elegant and benign transport mode south of the river, particularly southeast London.

Returning if I may to the effects, Commissioner, of the G4S ineptitude on the boroughs. I am pleased to hear your professional judgment that you expect perhaps no further draw or demand upon those resources, but clearly that remains to be seen as it plays out. When the last Government decided to set up LOCOG as a private company rather than a public agency, it was sold as a way of speeding up their procurement. After extensive questioning from all sides of this Assembly, it now appears that the motive may have been to escape the sort of standards of transparency that one would have expected from public bodies. Can you tell me, have you ever expressed dissatisfaction with the timing or quality of the information coming from LOCOG?

Boris, a large number of my constituents use the buses to get around boroughs like Havering and Redbridge because the rail links tend to be radial into town. So the announcement you have made today about the progress you are requesting towards resolving the strike is very welcome and I am sure they will be happy to hear that statement. But do you not share my surprise that the unions who were spending July campaigning for large amounts of money for working in the Olympics spent April campaigning for a candidate who was promising to slash public transport fares?

Thank you. That is some very useful information for us to use in our ongoing lobbying to stop the minority bringing London to a halt. The second thing, Mr Mayor, and it has already been touched on, is your aspiration to have more control over the London regional rail network. Given that we understand that there are people particularly in Kent who are worried about how their fast trains would be stopping at more stations, can I suggest that it would be useful if TfL were to put out a model timetable --
