Anyone who has done their homework knows that Sadiq [Khan, Mayor of London] has been a fierce advocate for improving building safety in London, pushing developers in the right direction on this particular point.     Caroline Pidgeon MBE AM: Commissioner, we know that after serious concerns were raised by HMICFRS about a huge backlog in vetting and re-vetting of officers back in around 2018/19, progress has been made. But the Deputy Commissioner told me earlier this month that there are still around 100 officers whose up-to-date vetting status is in question. You accepted that vetting was not conducted correctly in the case of Wayne Couzens, but how can we be certain that you will swiftly implement the recommendations from Baroness Casey’s review and the current HMICFRS investigation into vetting when there have clearly been issues...
