Florence Eshalomi AM: Good morning, Deputy Mayor. You may be aware that one of the things the Government was supposed to announce in the Autumn Statement was the whole announcement around the buy-as-you-go thought to help more people get on to the housing ladder. Do you think that would help in addressing the London housing crisis?

Thank you for your verbal report. No doubt, there will be some follow-up from others who are on the MPA about clarifications for your conversations with the Home Secretary, and the West London Tram will be brought up later on in subsequent questions. I mentioned about the hospital because in times of illness, that is something that stays with people, because of all the other factors, but there are other spin-offs as well. Somebody told me recently that when you look at elders, they are not able to use the holiday schemes that are on offer, because many of those--
  • London Planning Survey - ALG (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Tony Arbour
    • Meeting date: 18 November 2006
Do you know that is a bit rich, really, coming from you, saying that things are being dealt with for party political reasons. Many people would say that the London Plan and your amendment is driving forward a political agenda; for example, your policy relating to affordable housing. That is a political matter. In the opening statement which you made this morning, you talked about your casual attitude to events being rather more casual than, how shall I put it, more formal parts of Government. The truth of the matter is -
  • Living wage (Supplementary) [1]

That is very welcome. Will you actually write that into the contracts, and has it already been written into those contracts that have already been let?
  • Living wage (Supplementary) [3]

    • Question by: Darren Johnson
    • Meeting date: 08 September 2005
Again, will there be independent monitoring, as I mentioned earlier with the sustainability issues, of contracts, compliance, and such like to ensure that it does happen, and it is actually delivered?
  • Olympic Organisations (Supplementary) [1]

Local committees under the ODA, did you say earlier?
  • Olympic Organisations (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Bob Blackman
    • Meeting date: 08 September 2005
Is there a declared date for that to happen, or is this going to be a gradual process? We have already heard that the position over the land acquisition is not completely clear and is in a process of negotiation.
