  • Shift Patterns (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: John Biggs
    • Meeting date: 08 November 2006

Is that an issue in relation to the shift pattern changes?

  • Modernisation of Fire Service (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: John Biggs
    • Meeting date: 29 January 2003
We intend that the impact of the Bain Review, the modernisation agenda, would be very far-reaching in London. It would be about being able to broaden the services we provide to cover a wider variety of dangers and risks in London. It would be about us prioritising prevention work and reduction of fires and fires and deaths and other injuries. It would be about us applying the staff and the other resources we've got much more effectively than we do at the moment. The Fire Service at the moment basically is operating on a 50-year-old resource allocation mechanism, that tell...

  • Incinerators (Supplementary) [6]

    • Question by: John Biggs

I'm delighted to report, Chair, that the gunners across the river haven't quite found their range yet! My question is about education, because clearly if we're going to avoid the construction of incinerators, we need to change people's mind in London. And there is quite a lot of good on the ground work in individual boroughs, but there is a London-wide responsibility for an education campaign. Can Mr Duffy tell me what steps he's taking to ensure that's the most effective campaign that's possible?
