    Given that Jack Straw told House of Commons on November 23rd that 'Ken can write as many blank cheques as he wants; the thing is, they wont be banked or paid because it is a matter for the Government to decide', who actually controls the Olympic budget?

    The bid document says ''The Olympic Village will be built as a major regeneration project funded by a private/public sector consortium, with the funding guaranteed by the Mayor of London. The rental cost to the LOCOG in using the Olympic Village will be limited to a figure of not more than $40million.'' What progress has been made in identifying private/public sector consortium?
