Following your remarks to me in October last year that you liked the concept of a guided bus (with designated road space and priority at traffic signals but able to operate like a normal bus where Uxbridge Road is too narrow), agreed it might be more viable than a tram and was an idea worth exploring, Transport for London did not examine this option. Why not? .

Using his authority both as Mayor of London and Chair of Transport for London, and in view of his stated wish to see full consultation, will the Mayor encourage Ealing Borough Council to hold an open meeting to discuss the effect of the West London Transit tram scheme, following the decision by Labour councillors in June not to hold such a meeting, arguing lamely that because the tram will not be completed until 2009 it is too early to discuss traffic issues? .
