What are your priorities in relation to the London 2012 City Operations Programme, and what do you think the key challenges and risks will be?
  • City Operations Programme (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: John Biggs
    • Meeting date: 20 July 2011
Do you know how many, if any, privately-sponsored Live sites there will be in London in addition to ones that you are planning to have?

Can you just take me through the figures? Thank you for the briefing and the content in it, but I just wanted to clarify some issues around the funding that is available to you.
  • City Operations Programme (Supplementary) [11]

    • Question by: Murad Qureshi
    • Meeting date: 20 July 2011
I have two issues in mind. The first is with street signage on public transport. As a tourist at Athens and at Beijing, I found that very useful in my experience of those cities. I am just wondering whether any thought has been put into that in the London context over and above what the ambassadors will be doing on the street level.
  • City Operations Programme (Supplementary) [12]

    • Question by: Len Duvall OBE
    • Meeting date: 20 July 2011
I don't want to upset Tony Arbour but unless Richmond have moved their position from June you won't be waving any flags at all, even with the Union Jack, regardless of what LOCOG do or not. Can I just ask you a very quick question around London House 2012 and the use of this building? In our agenda, in paragraph 4.18 of the report, it says that really this is only going to result in rooms being less available to staff and Assembly Members from July 2012 to September 2012. Do you accept that is the only issue? We are...
  • Review process of LDA funding (Supplementary) [10]

    • Question by: Valerie Shawcross
    • Meeting date: 16 January 2008
Will you just confirm, for the record, that I passed on a casework complaint to you, Manny, in 2005 regarding the Green Badge Taxi School and we had a considerable amount of correspondence; and that as a result there was an external audit commissioned of the organisation and the grant that was given? In response to that, you called in external legal advice and you sent a copy of that to me finally in April 2007, and at that time I felt that you had dealt with the complaint as thoroughly as could be done at the time.
  • Legacy Master plan for the Olympic Park (Supplementary) [4]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 10 November 2007
I have a couple of questions and I will start with Manny [Lewis]. You spoke about having achieved over 800 training courses to date in construction. Are you monitoring in terms of diversity ethnicity and location? If you are, can you share that information so that we can be assured that the contract that you have made with the local community and with Londoners that they will be accessing these jobs, especially in the construction industry, is being fulfilled? Second, can you tell me any more about the construction site which I have been championing to get established within Leyton...
  • Legacy Master plan for the Olympic Park (Supplementary) [10]

    • Question by: Murad Qureshi
    • Meeting date: 10 November 2007
Just thinking beyond the Olympics and who actually manages the Olympic Park, I think that is very critical for the legacy for a number of reasons. It will have state of the art sporting facilities, a park, waterways and I do hope it will still be democratically responsive to Londoners. I wondered if you have got any views from all three organisations, given that our colleagues from the local authorities have already expressed their views to some extent when I last raised this issue when they were here?
  • Priorities for the Coming Year (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Murad Qureshi
    • Meeting date: 10 November 2007
OK, and just to add to the confusion, I think the Government Office for London have got a role in there somewhere.
  • Priorities for the Coming Year (Supplementary) [4]

I dare say your specialism is larger capital programmes. Youth services is the softer end; it is kind of more social, community type outputs. I am just not totally convinced you have got a track record in that. How are you going to buy into that sector and who are you going to be working with?
